Take Years Off Your Face With a Micro-Current Facial

Do you look in the mirror and wonder who that is staring back at you? You’re not alone! Women as young as 40 are seeking cosmetic surgery to ‘touch-up’ their aging faces. Not everyone can afford the luxury, expense or time involved with getting a face-lift. Have you considered the option of an Edmond’s Micro-Current Facial as an option?

What is a Micro-Current Facial?

Your chemicals in your body are stimulated with micro-currents of electricity to stimulate production of:

  • Collagen
  • Elastin
  • Healthy Blood Circulation
  • Amino Acids
  • ATP
The stimulation actually occurs at the cellular level, improving the look and feel of your skin.

How is a Micro-Current Facial Performed?

Each session takes about 1-2 hours, with the actual facial lasting about 1-hour. Your esthetician delivers stimulation to your tissue and muscles using a 2-pronged (cotton tipped) electrical instrument. Because the procedure does not require anesthesia, you can resume normal activities immediately following the facial. Unlike a surgical facelift, there are no potential harmful side effects or irritation from the Micro-Current Facial.

How Many Treatments Will it Take?

Generally, 12-14 sessions are recommended to reap the full benefits of a Micro-Current Facial. Treating the muscles and tissue of the face and neck is effective for:

  • Eyebrow Lift
  • Jowl Lift
  • Improving muscle tone in face and neck
  • Reduction/Elimination of  fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Exfoliation
  • Treating sun damage
  • Improve skin-care product penetration

Although the combined cost of a full micro-current facial may seem daunting, it is but a fraction of the cost of a traditional surgical facelift. Keep in mind that you will likely need to schedule regular ‘touch-up’ sessions to maintain the effects.

How Long Will a Micro-Current Facial Last?

As with a surgical facelift, Micro-Current effects will not last forever. To sustain the effects as long as possible, refrain from the following:

  • Smoking
  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Illicit or unnecessary drugs
  • Sun exposure

Generally, you will find that the effects, properly maintained will last at least 6-weeks.

Is There Any Special Preparation Required?

The most important thing you should do to prepare for your micro-current facial is to hydrate – drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Do not have any irritating treatments (exfoliation, microdermabrasion, chemical peel, etc.) at least 10 days prior to each micro-current session. Just before your treatment, wash your face with a gentle cleanser, pat dry and do not apply moisturizer. This will provide a clean palette for your esthetician!
